A cold day in Melbourne saw me craving some winter warming food and with the five of us home today I couldn't go past home cooked Steak, Onion and Mushroom Pies.

Instructions
  1. Heat olive oil in large saucepan
  2. Add garlic and onions and cook until onion is translucent
  3. Add diced beef and brown/seal all sides. (approx. 5 minutes) stirring continuously
  4. Add onion flakes and tomato paste and continue to stir
  5. Add vegetable stock cue and 750 ml of water. Stir through
  6. Add Salt and pepper to taste
  7. Add mushrooms and stir through.
  8. Place lid on saucepan and simmer for 2 hours, checking water levels every 20 minutes. Add more water if required.
  9. In the mean time cut puff pasty to fit the size of pie maker.
  10. Once the filling is cooked place the pasty in the pie maker and add 2-3 tablespoons of pie filling. Place puff pasty lid on top and cook for approx. 7 minutes
  11. Enjoy.

Can be frozen for lunches or a another meal.
