Meet Your Organic Place Team: This is Jo!

Jo has been a customer of ours for more than five years and has now come on board as a packer and driver, delivering all your delicious organics to your door.

Jo started with us last August to lend a hand while Olga was on maternity leave.

Tell us a bit about yourself. . .

Hi I’m Jo!

I’m a mother of 2 girls and 2 boys. My youngest is only 6 months old. I’m currently on maternity leave for how long … I haven’t decided just yet.
I was luckily enough to score a gig with The Organic Place while Olga is on mat leave.
My most important things in life are my faith in God, my children, and extended family.
Down time I love a good book with a glass of red and I love to cook and bake! And also my family adventures where ever it takes us.

When and why did you start to eat organic?

I’ve been a customer of the organic place for I think for 3-ish years.
My family and I choose to eat organic because it taste so much better, for the nutritional value, the reduced impact on the enivronment, and safer meat and dairy. You can’t compete with organic produce once you go organic.

What do you think are the benefits of eating organic?

Knowing I am feeding my family the best without all the GMOs and the nasty pesticides and fertilisers. Why wouldn’t you? Especially when organic produce nowadays is so much more affordable.

Where are you from?

I live in Melton West, and have been living in Melton for the last 4 years.
My family are here so this is home. Nothing wrong with  good old Melton!

What have you learned since joining The Organic Place family?

I learned to appreciate the time and efforts of the farmers. I always look forward to what’s in season, and just recently having the opportunity to taste a black sapote (chocolate fruit).

What are some of your favourite dishes?

There are so many foods and meals we love to enjoy as a family! From vegan to meat dishes, vegetarian to our very own cultural dishes.
I would have to say Sunday lamb roast with vege and plenty of gravy,  my kids go nuts.
It’s such a feel-good meal and is our family favorite in my home.

Any tips for fussy eaters?

Fussy eaters…rule in my house: you get what you get and you don’t get upset. Haha
It works sometimes.
I really don’t have advice in the end you like what you like … and they will eventually appreciate the sprouts one day…just like I did!

What is your favourite fruit/veg?

OMG everything ?
