Meet Camille and Courtney

At The Organic Place we have an amazing team of friendly, passionate staff who work hard behind the scenes making this dream of ours come true. As our business grows, so does our team and tonight we wanted to introduce you to our two new team members.

Meet Camille….

Camille recently joined our team as part of the Western Suburbs delivery run. Her beautiful, big smile is contagious! Camille is joined on her deliveries but her beautiful baby, Sesuna and is currently breastfeeding so if any of you Mummas out there could do with a bit of adult conversation in your day feel free to invite Camille in, offer her your couch for 15 minutes to breast feed and she’ll listen to you vent about motherhood and life (because we all need that every now and then!)

Tell us a bit about yourself Camille

I’m a Mum to 3 kids under the age of 5. Mum life is hectic, but it’s where I want to be. Although, if I’m honest, I do want to start finding myself as an individual again. I enjoy netball, so would love to get back to playing and I really want to start going to more live music gigs, so if anyone needs a friend to accompany them to a concert, I’m in!

I like to experiment in the kitchen; I’m not a huge follower of recipes, but do love to hear of new creations. I also like to get outdoors and be spontaneous. I enjoy spending time with my mother’s group and attending ABA (Australian Breastfeeding Association) meetings.

How long have you lived in Melbourne’s West?

Coming up two years. I’ve lived in Melbourne for 8 years (I’m a kiwi) originally in Clifton hill and Brunswick areas and knew little of the west until we moved here. We have been surprised by how easy the living has been over this side.

What do you like best about living in the West?

With 3 kids under the age of 5, my life revolves around them, so we love to adventure down by the creeks, Werribee south beach and the zoo. The area is expanding so quickly, so there are always new things and services available. I’ve only just heard about the RAFF museum in Point Cook, so I will be taking my girls there soon.

What do you like most about being a part of The Organic Place team?

I love being part of a small, friendly team. All the ladies love a little chat, and they have some smart ideas too!

What’s your favourite meal to share with your family?

My husband is Ethiopian, so our food is made for sharing and made with love. Most of our family meals are served on one giant plate and my kids sit on the kitchen table so we can all eat together at once. I know it’s not western etiquette, but my kids love to eat with their hands and I have never had a problem with them eating vegetables.

Any tips for fussy eaters?

Serve kids spinach smoothies as young as possible; they will love the green colour even if other adults don’t.  And serve a small variety of everything and then let them make choices.

Meet Courtney…

Courtney is our newest team member and will be taking care of our brand new Surf Coast delivery run starting next month.

Tell us a bit about yourself Courtney

I have been a mum for almost a year; my son Alfie will turn 1 in July. It’s been the most tiring year of my life but also the most rewarding. The amount of joy he brings to my life and my family’s life is enormous.

I have been in the beauty industry for 11 years and currently run my own beauty business from our home in Anglesea, specialising in waxing, tanning, gel nails & tinting.

How long have you lived on the Surf Coast?

I’ve lived on the Surf Coast for almost 30 years!  My family moved to Anglesea when I was 1, and I then moved to Melbourne for 6 years when I was 19. I loved Melbourne and still do but there is just something about being “home”.

What do you like best about living there?

I love being near the water. I can hear the ocean from my bedroom. Anglesea was a great place to grow up and has a nice community feel. And I love being close to all my family!

What are you looking forward to the most about joining The Organic Place team?

Learning more about making healthy choices (I will probably eat more fruit now! and new products and sharing the organic love to the Geelong and Surf Coast region.

What’s your favourite meal to share with your family?

I love making curries & I have a spectacular Thai Chicken Mince dish that I make with the freshest flavours!

Any tips for fussy eaters?

Don’t rule it out until you try it!

Favourite fruit and favourite vegetable?

I love Pineapple, strawberries & bananas.  Especially a banana and mango smoothie, yum! When it comes to vegetables I just can’t go past mash potatoes, brocollini & carrots.

Welcome Camille and Courtney!
