Tell us a bit about yourself Jackie
Well I’m a bit of a Jackie of all trades really. I’ve always been interested in health, particularly how our food impacts it. Prevention is always better than cure, I’m very passionate about that. I also write for children, poetry mostly and I had my first picture book published in 2014 with hopefully another in the pipeline. I am the accounts manager for mine and my husband’s carpentry business and I also clean my friend’s air B&B and of course I’m a housewife and now delivery driver for The Organic Place!
How long have you lived on the Surf Coast?
I moved to Anglesea in 1999 where I had my 3rd and final child – he is now nearly 17. We built a house there and recently sold it as both of our older children have left home. Currently we live in Aireys Inlet.
What do you like best about living there?
The beauty of not just the ocean and the beaches but the bush as well. I love walking in the bush with my Staffy – much of my poetry is discovered out there amongst all the nature.
What are you looking forward to the most about joining The Organic Place team?
Being with and meeting like minded people. People who care about their health and their environment. I’m also loving discovering places that I’ve never been to before. I love the autonomy that the job offers and it fits in so well with my lifestyle. And of course seeing everyone’s face light up when I deliver their delicious fresh fruits and vegetables is an added bonus.
What’s your favourite meal to share with your family?
My son’s favourite meal is Cornish pasties (I’m from Cornwall originally) but a very close second is beef stir fry with tons of veggies, the more the better.
Favourite fruit and favourite vegetable?
Favourite fruit would be any berry, particularly raspberries. And my favourite vegetable is broccoli.
