A simple lunch or dinner on these hot days is always a good idea, and nothing is simpler than a quick tortilla. With such simple ingredients in a dish, you really want them to be quality to help bring out the flavour. Fortunately we source some of the best organic Dutch Cream in the country, […]
There’s nothing like getting a big, delicious avocado in The Organic Place fruit and veggie bag. I love how they can add that extra tasty goodness to almost anything, as well as all those amazing health benefits. Vitamins, folate, magnesium, potassium; you name it, avocado has it. We love it at our place as a […]
This is such a fantastic idea for when you’re cooking for a crowd – the pan is cleared for your eggs and whatnot, and nothing requires monitoring or flipping – it’s just baked into a molten, golden, garlicky mess of delicious veg. It’s best to add your spinach in batches, as it does take up […]
This is my favourite way to have potatoes. Though probably not as healthy as baked or steamed potatoes, it is absolutely delicious and always lovely for special occasions. It’s also a great time to try out all the amazing Schulz dairy products that we sell at The Organic Place.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The long winter has waved goodbye, and the fresh, tender veg of spring are HERE! This base risotto recipe is, of course, perfect year-round, but there’s something special about the delicate greenery and lemon zinginess of this spring version. It’s about to be your new favourite. This Green Bean Risotto is a wonderfully easy meal with the delicious hint of pesto. It is perfect for a meat-free Spring dinner with a side of fresh salad but could also be incorporated with a favourite cut of meat. The method below is for traditional cooking but it doesn’t take long to get it […]
Who can say no to a hearty salad on a hot day? Something refreshing and cooling, but also hefty enough to stop us raiding the refrigerator an hour later is just about the holy grail of salads. Who, then, could say no to a salad that can do all that, but also be served in […]
Asparagus is divine no matter how you prepare it – and it’s often the simplest recipes that allow this seasonal treat to really shine. Asparagus season is so brief, but when you get tired of steaming with butter and salt (if that’s even possible!), roasting or grilling this wondrous veg is a welcome change. Add […]
As a busy mum we tend not to not put ourselves and our eating habits first. How many of you eat breakfast standing up, have lunch on the run or skip a meal altogether? It’s easy to let our own health slide and to become rundown. Luckily for us, we can rely on The Organic Place to deliver us fresh, delicious, organic produce and products that can give us the extra boost our tired and sleep deprived bodies need.
Of course there’s a million different salad combinations you can try but I really love this one because as well as tasting great, it is full of super ingredients. Eggs are the most amazing food that keep us fuller for longer and provide us with protein and vitamins. Kehoe’s Kitchen beetroot sauerkraut provides us with probiotics for a healthy gut. Avocado and olive oil are good fats. Feta is a delicious touch of dairy. The greens in the salad, of course, are packed with amazing minerals and fibre.
You can throw this salad together in the time it takes to boil an egg, and from there on, you could even eat it one-handed if need be. Mums with clingy bubs, you’ll know what I’m talking about here.
Celebrate the change in Spring weather and whip up this salad for yourself. Your taste buds, and your body, will thank you.
