Tempura is like the Japanese version of our fish and chips but infinitely better. The batter is so much lighter. Consequently, it won’t leave you with that queasy feeling people often get after eating greasy food. It is not reserved for fish and potatoes either. The Japanese deep fry everything: from green beans, eggplant and […]
Nothing says Christmas quite like decorated gingerbread to share with your loved ones. Here is a healthy gingerbread recipe from The Healthy Chef – Teresa Cutter, which gives you the deliciousness of gingerbread without the refined sugar or gluten so it’s something everyone can enjoy.
My mother-in-law is the most amazing cook and has very generously allowed me to share this recipe with you. Even the humble home cook like me can make it. As the title suggests, it works best with apricots, which will come into season during summer. But if you can’t wait until then, it can also […]
As a busy mum we tend not to not put ourselves and our eating habits first. How many of you eat breakfast standing up, have lunch on the run or skip a meal altogether? It’s easy to let our own health slide and to become rundown. Luckily for us, we can rely on The Organic Place to deliver us fresh, delicious, organic produce and products that can give us the extra boost our tired and sleep deprived bodies need.
Of course there’s a million different salad combinations you can try but I really love this one because as well as tasting great, it is full of super ingredients. Eggs are the most amazing food that keep us fuller for longer and provide us with protein and vitamins. Kehoe’s Kitchen beetroot sauerkraut provides us with probiotics for a healthy gut. Avocado and olive oil are good fats. Feta is a delicious touch of dairy. The greens in the salad, of course, are packed with amazing minerals and fibre.
You can throw this salad together in the time it takes to boil an egg, and from there on, you could even eat it one-handed if need be. Mums with clingy bubs, you’ll know what I’m talking about here.
Celebrate the change in Spring weather and whip up this salad for yourself. Your taste buds, and your body, will thank you.

This is a super-fun way to make the most of the tons of crispy, gorgeous, deeply-orange organic carrots in our bags at the moment – this recipe is easily doubled or tripled and the patties do well in the freezer (uncooked) ready for dinner at a moment’s notice. We’ve used a handful of fennel fronds […]
I love cooking pies. To me they are homely and go hand in hand with this cold Melbourne weather. Try these Organic Eggplant & Mushroom Pies today.
Perfect of that little vegetarian in you!
With tomorrow being Meat Free Monday, Ryder has requested that we have something with Salmon. We enjoyed these salmon patties on Good Friday and thought you might like to try them too.
As promised, this week we have a Low FODMAP meal for those who follow the diet, or if you are entertaining people who are Low FODMAP and you need a meal to serve them. If neither apply to you, I promise it is still a delish meal to add to your regular recipes. The beef burgers are great by themselves on a bun for your fussy eaters or if you like your burgers full you can squeeze as many fillers as you like in with them. I have also included a simple and scrumptious accompaniment of wedges which are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Yum! Here’s what you need:
